iKBC CD108 PBT. Cherry MX Blue switches with PBT keycaps. Nice and minimalist keyboard with no RGB or backlit nonsense. Look at the size comparison. Also was only $70 shipped on newegg.

I think I recall
the only ergo keyboards I was ever around going “thump” because I *think* they had heavy soft membranes in them.

those are rubber domes, so not mechanical but they were good for their time

You are correct sir. My stupid self decided many years ago ”who needs these old things” and let go of my good clicky ones. One of them being identical to the second shown in nibbys post.
I just wanted an excuse to show off those sweet sweet ergonomics . Much angle!

Reminds me, some of my frequent use keys on my 1 year old MacBook are starting to be picky about how I press them. Disgraceful considering how much I paid for it.

Shows what I know.
I’ll just have to make my own clickity noises I guess.
*Decends into madness*

I LOVE keyboards that have a short, crisp travel and have a mechanical click feedback. Alas, none of the ergonomic kb manufacturers agree with me.

Check out the GMMK. The RGB can be turned off (thank god) and it’s got replaceable switches. It’ll take pretty much anything - I’m running Kailh Purple Pros right now. Realized I actually like ‘em a bit more than my Gat Greens.

no one would make an ergo mech

I might have to check out the iKBC at that price. Much to my dismay, I need to source an MX Black board for someone. What used to be the cheapo throwaway switch you found in everything, now can’t be found in anything at all.

Thank you, this is very helpful. Also, oof bitter much . On a more serious note. Yeah I bought I the apple thing hook, line, and sinker after what I felt like was a lot of research. I have reached full on regret yet but it’s wasnt exactly the sunshine and rainbows I had been led to believe.

Yeah, the thing is I even should have known better being a computer science student. Live and learn.

A new coworker of mine is into keyboards. He brought in one of his mechanical ones he built
and it was so good. I forget what switches it had in it, though. Loud enough to never be usable at work, but I kind of want a nice one for home use now
... I’ll have to ask him about how this one compares to the couple of his I’ve briefly typed on. He seems to know what all the different key types are, I have no idea.

ask him! that sounds really cool. i see how people end up buying tons of these things
